The falls have unfrozen

They opened the dam further up the river, so you can barely see the rocks under the waterfall. This is pretty unusual I'm told, as the electric company who owns or has the rights to the generator is very particular about water flow. 

Here is a rainbow created by late afternoon sun and most from the river. While walking on the side walk (maybe 400-500 feet away from the falls), one can feel the mists carried on the winds which were particularly strong today.
