Hebrews 1
Why did Son of God came to earth to experience mortality?
Here is the impressive thing about what Christ did - it was voluntarry. He did not need to do one single thing that he did. He did not need to live a purely mortal life. It would have been enough for him to come down, take on mortality, and then be crucified. So why?! Why did he go through the pain of childhood, the angst of teenage years, the turbulent time of trying to make a living for himself before his public ministry? Why would he go through such hard things? He did it so he could know how to love us. He wanted to know how we feel. He did it so that when we are in pain, suffering emotionally, physically, or spiritually, he could honestly say "I know how you feel."
Our friends might say such things, but deep down, we know they do not. They can't, how could they? But Christ does. He knows how it feels to be left alone, feel pain, loss, and sorrow. He knows. And because he knows he can love us perfectly, and love us how we need to be loved.
He is able to succor us.
"Let us therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
