Many of you have asked me "What's next?" And I'm sure I've given you a vague answer at best. When I returned home I had no idea what exactly I wanted to do, or what would be best. On the last leg of my missionary service, I had been prompted to start thinking about Denver as on option. Then during a pretty crucial point in my job search, I was offered a job with HomeShield Pest Control. It was a unique circumstance, and when it came down to the wire about making a decision to move to Denver or not, I thought about all the consequences deeply. I finally came to feel that it was the 'right' move, even though I really wasn't sure exactly why. To be honest, I'm still not. But, after serving a mission, and understanding the importance of acting upon spiritual promptings, I decided to take it. I currently LOVE my job, my co-workers, and the opportunity I have to be a teacher in the Relief Society (the Woman's Group at the church where I belong) every 4th Sunday.
After a lot of pondering, advice asking, praying, fasting, list making and checking, and more pondering, I've decided that I'm going to stay in Denver, rather than returning to BYU. As the lyrics to a beloved Green Day song state, "It's something unpredictable, But in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life."
It seems to me to be one of the singular events in life, where on paper it looks silly, but deep down in my heart, it feels right. And, a multitude of things have fallen into place that will allow for a almost seamless transition to staying here on a more permanent basis. Almost effortlessly good roommates, a good job, and future funding for school, have all fallen into place. The goal is to re-enter in the 2012-2013 school year as a Colorado resident to either University of Denver, University of Colorado-Denver, or University of Colorado-Boulder.
So perhaps my life is unpredictable, but in the end, it's right - as long as we act prayerfully, faithfully, and are diligent in following the commandments of a loving Heavenly Father.
